Corva Graham brings her inspiring mantra, “Play With Heart,” to communities and individuals across Colorado with her teaching and playing. A multifaceted performer, educator, and student, Corva studies music as well as statistics and data science at the University of Colorado Boulder. Her studies at CU Boulder give her a deep appreciation for the ways that music and math, or more broadly, creative and analytical topics, are intertwined.
Studying both music and math inspires Corva to approach her practice and performance in ways that both preserve authenticity of music and share her personal expressive voice. She believes that music is not just an art form but also a means of connection and expression, especially with students: Corva encourages her students to be curious and to approach their musical education with both creativity and analytical thinking. Her teaching methods emphasize the importance of fundamentals like music theory and technique in enabling students to develop their own musical voices.
Corva started her musical journey on the piano at age three, and started learning the flute when she was in elementary school. Since then, sharing music has become a lifelong passion for her.
Through teaching and her involvement with music at CU Boulder, Corva energizes students and audiences by playing with passion and heart, instilling in them the idea that music is a vehicle for personal expression. Whether working with kids or adults, absolute beginners or those with a musical background, students with specific musical goals or those who just want to have fun, Corva inspires and equips her students to “Play With Heart”, too.
